The soldier first fired into the air, then shot to neutralize the threat after the assailants persisted, with a hit detected. The attackers later tried to seize the soldier’s weapon before additional Israeli forces arrived, ending the incident. 

Both the soldier and civilian were injured and received on-site medical care.

Unconfirmed Arab media reports say one of the attackers was killed.
