Israeli air defense technology is now becoming part of America’s own military shield, including in the Pacific against threats from China.
The US Marine Corps has deployed the MRIC air defense system on Guam as part of the Valiant Shield 2026 exercise, using technology based directly on Israel’s Iron Dome system.
The system is designed to protect US forces and strategic bases in the Pacific from cruise missiles, drones and other aerial threats. It uses Tamir interceptors from Iron Dome, known in American service as SkyHunter, mounted on a mobile launcher that can carry up to 20 missiles.
The system is integrated with American radar and command systems, giving the Marines a mobile defense layer for bases and maneuvering forces.
