While much of Israel slept—or watched the World Cup—reports from Lebanon claimed that IDF forces were advancing north toward the Ali al-Taher hills and Hezbollah’s underground command post in the area.
About an hour ago, Lebanon’s MTV network reported that the IDF had captured the ridge overnight and had also entered the village of Tabbnit, south of Nabatieh.
The ridge is considered one of Hezbollah’s most important strategic assets in southern Lebanon. During the last war, the area was repeatedly targeted in dozens of strikes involving hundreds of munitions.
Now, with Israeli forces reportedly in control of the site, the IDF may finally gain direct access to the underground command complex and discover what Hezbollah concealed inside.
