A former major Democratic donor says years of media narratives collapsed once he examined key claims himself.
Billionaire investor Chamath Palihapitiya, once a mega-donor to the Democratic Party, says he came to realize he had been “totally brainwashed” by major US media outlets into believing false narratives about Donald Trump.
Speaking candidly, Palihapitiya said he accepted what he was told by outlets such as the New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, CBS and others from the moment Trump announced his candidacy.
According to Palihapitiya, the turning point was what he described as the “Charlottesville lie.” He said that once he revisited the facts for himself, the broader media narrative began to unravel, leading him down what he called a “rabbit hole” that fundamentally changed his view of Trump and the political media ecosystem.
