The new Settlements Administration in the Defense Ministry is a “mega-dramatic” change that will prevent a Palestinian state, the minister said.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich (Religious Zionist Party) revealed earlier this month that he has managed a “mega-dramatic” change imposing civilian control over most land issues in Judea and Samaria in the Defense Ministry that will lead to a leap forward in settlement expansion and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.
In the June 9 meeting with Religious Zionist Party faction members, he described his creation of “a separate civilian system” called the Settlements Administration, within the Civil Administration (CA) in the Defense Ministry.
“We came to settle the land, to build it, and to prevent its division and the establishment of a Palestinian state, God forbid. And the way to prevent this is to develop the settlements,” Smotrich said to his supporters.
