Elbit signs $100 million contract to provide joint national digital fire command center to undisclosed European country.
Israeli company Elbit Systems Ltd. has won a contract from a European country to provide it with a Joint Digital Fire Command Center (JNDFC) and integrate the country’s strategic and tactical firepower into the system.
The agreements, worth approximately $100 million, will enable Elbit to provide multi-domain digital warfare capabilities at a joint level.
According to the company’s report, the digital command center will integrate Elbit’s C4ISR Digital Fires suite of systems, which includes the Torch-X Fires system, E-LynX software-defined radios, and the GRX-8000 high-capacity microwave communications system.
As part of the contract, the company will also digitize an artillery battalion and seamlessly integrate it into the command center.
The command center will enable real-time management of various firepower assets, including howitzers (self-propelled guns), rockets, mortars, precision munitions and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as multiple types of sensors such as radars and forward-looking observation devices.
By digitizing fire operations and integrating real-time intelligence with command and control (C4I) capabilities, the system aims to improve operational efficiency, improve firepower management and significantly accelerate the “identification to target” cycle.
