The dollar was encased inside a custom-made leather holder inscribed with the words: “To President Donald J. Trump – A true friend and partner of Israel and the Jewish people – From Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
During a private dinner at the White House this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented former President Donald Trump with two deeply symbolic gifts.
Now, up-close images and new details are offering a closer look at the craftsmanship, meaning, and backstory behind the items—both rooted in themes of faith strength, and the U.S.-Israel alliance.
The first gift was a mezuzah case unlike any other. Shaped like a B-2 stealth bomber, the mezuzah was crafted from shrapnel recovered from an Iranian missile that was intercepted over Israel.
The piece was designed by Israeli artist Yaron Bob, known for transforming remnants of war into objects of spiritual significance.
The mezuzah’s scroll was placed precisely where the bomber’s weapons bay would be—a symbolic fusion of faith and firepower.
The case came housed in a velvet-lined box and included a plaque that read:
“To President Donald J. Trump, in appreciation for the big, beautiful bombs of Midnight Hammer.”
The inscription referenced “Operation Midnight Hammer,” the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities carried out in coordination with Israel.
President Trump shared a close-up image of the mezuzah, revealing its metallic finish, intricate contours, and the message on the plaque, giving the public a detailed view of the unique item and its symbolic impact.
The second gift was more subtle but no less meaningful: a single U.S. dollar bill encased in a custom-made leather holder.
The dollar came from the personal collection of Rabbi Chaim Greenberg, director of Heichal Menachem in Beitar Illit, and was one of the dollars handed out by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, along with a blessing for success.
Netanyahu has long been influenced by the Rebbe, having met with him personally multiple times. The Rebbe famously encouraged Netanyahu to stand firm in defending the Land of Israel and its people.
Trump, too, has shown reverence for the Rebbe, having visited the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens during his 2024 reelection campaign.
The path the dollar took to reach Trump reflects layers of connection. Ahead of the trip, Chabad-affiliated Deputy Mayor Meir Bar Lev of Beitar Illit gave Netanyahu a Rebbe dollar as a personal blessing.
Touched by the gesture, Netanyahu requested another to present to Trump. Bar Lev returned to Rabbi Greenberg, who agreed to provide a second dollar from his private stash.
The final presentation was set in a sleek leather case designed by the Rober company in Kfar Chabad, engraved with the message:
“To President Donald J. Trump – A true friend and partner of Israel and the Jewish people – From Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
These two gifts—one forged from the wreckage of war, the other steeped in spiritual legacy—offer an unusually close look at the bond between the two leaders and the values they see as shared between their nations: strength, conviction, and divine protection.
