"I expected a warm and friendly visit, and we knew what topics we would discuss, but the visit exceeded expectations. It was exceptionally warm and friendly—perhaps the warmest and most amicable meeting ever between an Israeli prime minister and a U.S. president," Netanyahu stated at the beginning of the interview.

He continued: "I was aware of the general direction, but I think the world was caught by surprise. The U.S. president has been asked repeatedly about 'the day after.' Well, here he comes with a completely new and different idea. A post-Hamas Gaza, because there is no other option. He is talking about a transformed Gaza, and he suggests that the U.S. will take responsibility to ensure that the horrors we have experienced will not be repeated."

Netanyahu expressed optimism about Trump's new idea, stating that he envisions a new era on the horizon.

"The most important thing is to understand that we are not going back to what was. That is not an option. Now, we must choose—if the choice is between Abu Mazen and the Palestinian Authority in Gaza, which has been repeatedly suggested, I ask: 'Really? We've seen what happened when they were in control. We've seen how they educate their children. Now, the U.S. president is offering something different, even suggesting American involvement in Gaza. So, do you prefer Abu Mazen or the U.S. there?'"

Yesterday, Netanyahu concluded his visit to the U.S., during which he met with former President Trump, senior administration officials, and members of Congress. According to Netanyahu, the discussions focused on key security issues, including the Iranian threat and the situation in Gaza.

Netanyahu emphasized that Trump proposed a fresh approach to addressing "the day after Hamas" in Gaza, calling it "the first original idea presented in years." The prime minister stressed the importance of carefully considering this proposal.
