Iranian state television reports that Israel carried out a strike a short while ago on the Ardakan facility in the city of Yazd, near Kohistan Park. The targeted site is known to be used in the production of “yellowcake,” a critical material in Iran’s nuclear program.
Yellowcake—also known as uranium concentrate—is a processed form of uranium extracted from ore. It serves as a key intermediate step in the nuclear fuel cycle and can be further refined for both civilian nuclear energy and nuclear weapons development. The material appears as a coarse powder with a strong odor and is not water-soluble.
If confirmed, this strike represents a significant escalation, as it targets a core component of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure rather than conventional military assets.
