Israel’s delegation to the United Nations has officially addressed the detention of Hussam Abu Safiya for the first time.

The delegation stated that Abu Safiya is being held at the Nitzan detention center, where he remains under medical supervision. According to Israel, his condition is stable and he is not in life-threatening danger.

Abu Safiya, frequently presented internationally simply as a doctor, holds the rank of colonel in the Hamas terrorist organization.
