The Iraqi govt has ordered the Swedish ambassador in Baghdad to leave amid a raging diplomatic row over Quran desecration in Stockholm.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani also recalled his country’s charge d’affaires in Sweden. Baghdad also suspended the working permit of Swedish telecom company Ericsson on Iraqi soil, according to state media.
Al-Sudani’s office said the moves were in response to what it called Sweden's repeated permission for the burning of the Quran and Iraqi flag.
Iraq has sought the Quran burner, an Iraqi refugee living in Sweden, Salwan Momika’s extradition to face trial in the country.
