US President Biden has said Putin's "back is against the wall" and added that Russia may resort to use of chemical or biological weapons. On the other hand, Ukrainian President Zelensky has again called for a meeting with Putin and agreed to compromise on NATO bid.

As Russia’s invasion enters day 27, Ukraine witnessed intense shelling and destruction around Kyiv and Mariupol. Ukraine's President has said that Mariupol is being “reduced to ashes” by Russia's military aggression. Ukrainian Forces claim Russian troops have seized a "land corridor" with Crimea and blocked Ukraine’s access to the Sea of Azov. Meanwhile, a Russian state media tabloid claimed Moscow has lost 9,861 soldiers and has 16,153 wounded in the war in Ukraine.
