Iranian journalist and anti-regime activist Masih Alinejad delivered a powerful rebuke to Spanish lawmakers and to Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, accusing Spain’s government of ignoring the suffering of the Iranian people while maintaining diplomatic engagement with the Islamic Republic.
Speaking about Sánchez’s recent comments opposing military action against Iran, Alinejad criticized what she described as moral hypocrisy and political exploitation of Iranian suffering.
Addressing the Spanish leader directly, she asked: “How dare you use the bodies of thousands of murdered Iranians as political ammunition for your domestic battles?”
Alinejad argued that while Spanish leaders speak about war and morality, they fail to acknowledge what she called the regime’s long-running war against its own citizens. She cited the killing of more than 32,000 people by the Islamic Republic and described violent crackdowns on protests, including women being shot in the eyes and security forces allegedly entering hospitals to finish off wounded demonstrators.
