Hezbollah will emerge from the current campaign bruised and battered and will also have difficulty explaining to the public in Lebanon why it caused such destruction.
The director of the Lebanese Institute for Market Research, Dr. Patrick Mardini, estimates that the damage from the war to the Lebanese economy reaches about 13 billion dollars, that is, about 70% of the total product of the Lebanese economy.
According to him, economic growth in Lebanon before the war was zero, but at least this year and next year It will be negative. The cost of destroying the roads, bridges and other physical infrastructure as well as businesses, commercial establishments and houses, is estimated by Mardini at about 4 billion dollars.
According to Mardini, the war came to Lebanon when it was in the midst of an economic catastrophe, when the Lebanese lost money that was deposited in banks, the currency collapsed and job opportunities were reduced.
All this did not prevent Nasrallah from bringing Lebanon into the adventure of supporting Gaza.
