Foreign reports claim Iran’s latest ballistic missile barrage was primarily aimed at three major Israeli Air Force bases: Nevatim, Tel Nof and Ramat David. The choice appears deliberate, as all three are central to Israel’s ability to conduct long-range operations across Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran
Nevatim is one of Israel’s most strategically important air bases and hosts advanced aircraft and long-range strike capabilities. Tel Nof is a major operational hub in central Israel, while Ramat David is the Air Force’s key northern base and supports missions connected to the Lebanese and Syrian fronts.
Iran is attempting to portray its attacks as military retaliation rather than deliberate attacks on Israeli civilians. By claiming to target airfields, intelligence centers and military installations, Tehran also seeks to improve its international propaganda position.
Even without destroying aircraft, repeated attacks on these bases could force Israel to disperse planes, relocate equipment and allocate additional air-defense systems. The bases support fighter operations, maintenance, refueling, command, control and intelligence collection.
