Dana, who lost her sister Shiri Bibis and her two young nephews, Ariel and Kfir wrote this yesterday as Israel both celebrated and mourned the return of the remaining 20 live hostages:
Sorry to dampen the joy here, but I have to say this: There is nothing more important than the return of all the kidnapped people home, and I am happy that it happened - especially as someone who experienced it firsthand.
But, and there is great sadness!, We did not end this war! It was not for nothing that we sacrificed brave soldiers who were sent into battle. It was not for nothing that our dear ones lay for two years in dark tunnels, confused and oppressed.
For what? For this war to end without results?, For a decade from now, October 7 will come upon us again?
