Netanyahu was NOT the first Israeli PM who admonished Europe and world media

Last week, PM Netanyahu said that he would rather Israel be despised in the world media than be eulogized.

It turns out that he was rephrasing what Israeli PM, Gold Meir, once said:

"Dear distinguished leaders of Europe and enlightened Western nations around the world:

If we [Israel] have to have a choice between being dead and pitied, and being alive with a bad image, we'd rather be alive and have the bad image.”
