VIDEO: Saudi Arabia Then and Now: Malls full of Burqas transformed into Hollywood-esque awards shows

This clip is a compilation of videos showing a transformation that Saudi Arabia has undergone over the past 14 years.

The first half of the clip features footage from 2009-2014 showing women wearing only niqabs and burqas in public.

The second half of the clip shows footage from the recent Hollywood-esque 2022 Joy Awards show in Saudi Arabia honoring celebrities, artists, and influencers, at which many of the women wore revealing Western-style evening gowns.
