Last night, during an evening honoring the staff of the Barzilai Medical Center at the Ashkelon Hall of Culture, 31-year-old nurse Adi Levy-Shitrit began to feel labor pains.

Her sister Reut Ben-Ze'ev, a nurse and senior midwife, was sitting next to her at the event. They rushed to Barzilai Medical Center, and Reut assisted as her sister gave birth. She had also assisted with Adi's two previous births. 

Adi gave birth to a baby boy, and Reut said that she was thankful for the privilege of being her sister's midwife!
