Israel Aerospace Industries has unveiled OPAL-NG, a next-generation battlefield command and control system designed to connect manned and unmanned platforms into one operational network.
The system allows combat aircraft, drones, ground forces and naval platforms to share intelligence in real time, process large amounts of battlefield data, and support faster operational decision-making. According to IAI, OPAL-NG is meant to give commanders and combat units a clearer picture of the battlefield and improve coordination between different branches of the military.
The new system reflects one of the most important lessons of modern warfare: victory depends not only on firepower, but on speed, connectivity and the ability to turn information into action. As armies face missile threats, drones, electronic warfare and fast-changing battlefields, systems like OPAL-NG are becoming central to the future of military operations.
