The Syrian regime suspects that Ahmad al-Ouda, leader of the Southern Front militia that controls the Daraa province, of wanting to establish an independent state under Israeli protection.
According to pro-regime journalist Zino Yasser Mahamid, a resident of Daraa province, the Israeli invasion is good for Ahmad al-Ouda.
He hopes that Israel will occupy the entire south, including the capital Damascus, undermine Ahmad al-Shara's regime or perhaps even overthrow it, and give him an autonomous state in Daraa province, just as the Kurds received an autonomous state in northern and eastern Syria (Rojaba) and therefore he is more dangerous to Syria than the weak remnants of the previous regime.
He hopes that the regime will do everything to capture and prosecute Ahmad al-Ouda.
