NEWSRAEL: Iran announced today that they have unilaterally decided to build on the disputed islands in the Straits of Hormuz A move that the Gulf countries will never allow.
The Qatari Al Jazeera network recently published an interesting report according to which the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy announced that Iran had decided to establish residential projects on the disputed islands of Abu Musa, Little Tanev and Great Tanev.
These islands, which have a strategic location in the area of the Straits of Hormuz, were occupied by Iran in 1971 and since then there has been a dispute regarding their sovereignty between Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
The timing of the remarks of the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy, published by the Qatari Al Jazeera network, is particularly surprising in light of the recent rapprochement between Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
