Kuwait’s official newspaper announced that the government has decided to strip Kuwaiti preacher Tarik Al-Suwaidan — a senior Muslim Brotherhood figure and listed among the 500 most influential Muslims — of his citizenship.
Authorities stated the move was based on evidence that his citizenship had been obtained fraudulently.
The decision marks a significant step by Kuwait against a prominent regional Islamist voice long associated with the Muslim Brotherhood’s political agenda across the Middle East.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
The Muslim Brotherhood remains one of the most dangerous ideological forces in the region, fueling extremism and anti-Israel hostility for decades. Kuwait’s action against a leading Brotherhood figure signals a regional shift toward confronting Islamist influence — a trend that strengthens stability and aligns with the wider effort to curb radical networks hostile to Israel and the West.
