Images circulating online appear to show an Israeli Air Force F-16 “Barak” fighter jet carrying mysterious precision-guided bombs.
One of the photos reportedly shows the aircraft armed with two GBU-31 JDAM bombs, each weighing about 907 kg (2,000 pounds). What drew particular attention, however, were unusual markings on the bombs, which are rarely seen on standard munitions.
The Israeli Air Force initially published the images on its official X account, though some were later removed. The images surfaced amid reports suggesting a long-range Israeli mission that reached Iranian airspace near Tehran.
In one image, the commander of the Ramat David Air Base, identified only as “Col. A.”, can be seen standing beside one of the bombs. No further details about the weapon or its configuration were provided.
