Spoiler: Israel ranks 15th in the world
The Global Firepower website published its annual ranking of the world's most powerful militaries for 2025, after extensive research and analysis of 145 countries. The ranking was based on more than 60 different factors, led by the number of military units, financial capabilities, logistical capabilities, and geographical location of each country, to create what is known as the "power index."
In the Arab world, the Egyptian army maintained its status as the most powerful Arab army, ranking 19th in the world. The Saudi army was ranked second in the Arab world and 24th in the world, while the Algerian army was ranked third in the Arab world and 26th in the world. The Iraqi army was ranked fourth in the Arab world and 43rd in the world, followed by the UAE army, which was ranked fifth in the Arab world and 54th in the world.
The Moroccan army was ranked sixth in the Arab world and 59th in the world. The rest of the rankings continued, with the Qatari army reaching 72nd place in the world, followed by the Sudanese army in 73rd place, and then the Jordanian army in 75th place in the world.
Libya is ranked 76th in the world, followed by Kuwait in 79th place, Bahrain in 81st place and Oman in 82nd place. Yemen is ranked 85th in the world, while Tunisia is ranked 90th, placing it at the bottom of Arab armies in this classification.
Note: In the table of the strongest armies in the world, Israel is ranked 15th, while Egypt, the most powerful country in the Arab world, is ranked 19th.
