Russia announced today, that its navy stationed off the coast of Syria will conduct maneuvers in the Mediterranean.
The Russian Defense Ministry said: "The Russian navy will conduct naval maneuvers in several sectors in the Mediterranean."
The Russian Defense Ministry added that "forces will also conduct maneuvers in the Pacific and Atlantic", noting that 140 ships, 60 aircraft and 10,000 troops will take part in these maneuvers.
The ministry noted that 6 landing craft would arrive in the Mediterranean to participate in the maneuvers.
These maneuvers are consistent with the high intensity of tensions between Russia and NATO on the Ukrainian issue, as observers see these Russian moves as just a kind of Russian message to America and Europe.
It is worth noting that the eastern part of Europe until an escalation accelerated in military tensions between Russia and the West, especially in Ukraine and Poland.
