Fictitious user scams - beware!

A research group from the data4good laboratory in the Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev has developed a new method for identifying communities of fictitious users

Malicious or fictitious users on the Internet have become a growing nuisance. While many are dealing with their increasing frequency, few have developed methods to deal with them. Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev have developed a new method for detecting groups of unusual users. This development has been published on arXiv.

The elections are upon us and this time too we are expected to deal with dozens of fictitious accounts on social networks with the aim of tilting the public discourse and public opinion in specific directions.
