Elbit Systems has expanded its E-LynX tactical communications family with a new system designed to connect soldiers directly with unmanned platforms operating in the air, on land and at sea.
The new E-LynX UxS creates a single secure communications network linking ground troops, drones and unmanned ground vehicles. It allows the continuous transmission of voice, data, live video, sensor feeds and command-and-control instructions across the battlefield.
The system combines a communications module installed aboard the unmanned platform with Elbit’s E-LynX SR soldier radio. This enables troops to operate and control unmanned systems through one tactical radio interface rather than relying on separate communications equipment.
An airborne unmanned platform can also serve as a relay station, extending communications coverage between soldiers and forces operating beyond their normal line of sight. Elbit says the system is designed to maintain reliable, high-bandwidth communications even in complex combat environments.
