What began as a tragic injury on the battlefield is now evolving into a wellness revolution in the water.
Israeli startup apa Wellness is on a mission to redefine how we think about rehabilitation, fitness, and aquatic therapy. By transforming everyday swimming pools into intelligent, app-connected training environments, the company aims to unlock the untapped potential of water as a dynamic space for healing and performance.
Behind the innovation - the founder Asaf Ventura, an industrial designer and former combat medic , who sustained life-altering injuries during a military operation in Jenin. It was during his recovery that he first recognized a critical gap in the world of hydrotherapy.
“The pool was the only place I could enter with my changed body and still feel free,” Ventura reflects. “But traditional aquatic therapy lacked guidance, personalization, and engagement. That gap sparked the beginning of apa.”
