For those of us who learned the history of the Nazi German Holocaust, one of the most painful truths is not only the brutality of the Nazis, but the betrayal and indifference of the so-called โfree world.โ When millions of Jews were being slaughtered, much of the West remained silent.
From that silence, the Jewish people learned a hard lesson: that our survival depends first and foremost on ourselves, and that moral slogans from the powerful often collapse under the weight of cowardice and hypocrisy.
Today, we face something even worse than silence.
We face open support—political, cultural, and financial—for those who proudly declare that their goal is to destroy Israel and murder Jews. And this support comes from those who claim to be intelligent, just, defenders of freedom, and protectors of minorities.
