Germany has raised its threat level to “very high” amid growing concerns over activities linked to Iran, particularly targeting Jewish communities, Israeli interests, and Iranian dissidents across Europe.
The German Interior Ministry confirmed that both federal and state security agencies are on full alert, with reinforced protection already in place for Jewish and Israeli sites since the October 7 attacks. Authorities say these measures are continuously being reassessed and expanded as needed in response to evolving threats.
Officials also warned that Iran continues to engage in “transnational repression”—monitoring, intimidating, and targeting opponents beyond its borders. This includes threats against Persian-language media outlets operating in Europe, which Germany says it takes extremely seriously and will not tolerate.
German authorities emphasized that they are working closely with international partners and intelligence agencies to monitor and counter these threats, signaling a coordinated European concern over Iran’s expanding reach.
