A young Palestinian used social media yesterday to complain that he was fired by a Saudi company where he was employed.
According to the Palestinian, he was employed as a foreign worker by a perfumery company in Saudi Arabia and posted words of support for Gaza on his personal social media accounts.
He was asked by his employers to stop this and when he did not respond he was notified that he was fired. According to him, there was no clause in his employment contract prohibiting him from expressing his opinions in his personal accounts.
Saudi Arabia shows no tolerance towards those who publicly express support for Gaza since the fighting began. A few weeks ago it was reported that an Algerian pilgrim who shouted pro-Gaza slogans was arrested by the authorities in Saudi Arabia.
