Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a unilateral 72-hour ceasefire in Ukraine, scheduled from May 7 to May 10, 2025, to coincide with Russia's Victory Day celebrations on May 9.

The Kremlin has expressed readiness to engage in peace talks without preconditions but has warned of a response if Ukraine violates the ceasefire. However, Ukrainian officials have criticized the limited truce, calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire instead .

The Devil is in the details. Personally I would never trust Putin. He will surely reinforce his troops and rearm. At the end of the "truce" he will most assuredly attack and blame Ukraine.
