In a report from Israeli channel 14, Israel’s Foreign Ministry has quietly operated a covert digital campaign in recent months under the direction of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, aimed at fighting the growing wave of antisemitism and support for terrorism spreading across social media since the start of the war.
According to the report, the project remained under strict secrecy in order to preserve its operational effectiveness. The Foreign Ministry reportedly invested hundreds of thousands of shekels into the effort, which focused on monitoring and removing inciting and pro-terror content from major social media platforms.
The operation reportedly involved thousands of direct appeals to tech giants including Meta and X, as Israeli officials noticed a dramatic rise in requests linked to antisemitic incitement, glorification of terrorism, and violent anti-Israel propaganda.
As part of the effort, hundreds of posts and videos were reportedly removed after being classified as antisemitic, inciting violence, or openly supporting terrorist organizations.
