The Iranian regime is acting as if it wants an explosion and a renewal of fighting with the US, and the question arises: why? The answer is, most likely, the effectiveness of the American blockade on Hormuz.
This Iranian behavior is expressed both in the absurd demands the regime raises in negotiations, such as huge compensation for war damages, de facto sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, and so on; and in Iran's actions on the ground, such as the attack on the nuclear reactor in the United Arab Emirates.
The Iranian leadership understood that Trump is determined to continue the blockade, and that within a few months—without a dramatic change in the course of events—Iran will reach an economic collapse point that threatens the very existence of the regime.
Therefore, as a last resort, the Revolutionary Guards concluded that Iran must take a bold step: reigniting the war in a way that includes indiscriminate firing on the oil facilities of the Gulf countries, aiming to create a global energy crisis that will drive oil prices up to $150 or even $200 per barrel.
