Israel is has sent Turkey with a very serious threat. And this is no small matter.
In a dramatic and unprecedented move, Israel has delivered a direct and forceful warning to Turkey regarding its military ambitions in Syria.
According to a high-level political source, during a recent meeting in Azerbaijan between Israeli and Turkish representatives, Israel made its position crystal clear: any alteration to the deployment of foreign forces in Syria—specifically, the establishment of Turkish military bases in the Palmyra region—will be seen as crossing a red line.
“Israel made it unequivocally clear that such a move would be considered a serious breach of the rules and could lead to military action against Turkish forces in Syria,” the source revealed.
Israel’s warning didn’t stop there. The same source added, “Israel has previously emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Assad regime in Damascus to prevent such developments. Any action that threatens Israel will in turn threaten the rule of al-Assad.”
In plain terms, Israel appears to tolerate defined spheres of influence in Syria—but a direct Turkish military presence is a step too far. Should President Erdogan move to station Turkish troops in central Syria, Israel is prepared to act decisively, including the potential toppling of the Joulani HTS regime, which it now sees as a Turkish proxy.
This is one of the most direct and explicit threats Israel has ever issued against Erdogan’s government. While Israeli-Turkish relations have seen many low points over the years, this moment marks a new and potentially explosive chapter in the ongoing regional power struggle.
