As a Lebanese Maronite advocating for peace with Israel, I appreciate your upcoming visit to Lebanon. Our region has suffered too long from conflict, and I believe that dialogue and cooperation can pave the way for a better future for both our peoples. We Lebanese and Israelis deserve to live in peace.

Unfortunately, many Christian Lebanese politicians are reluctant to speak out for peace, fearing backlash and the possibility of war with the Arabs in Lebanon. Many are also submitting to Hezbollah, which is dragging the country into a war and refusing to be disarmed.
