A conservative member of the European Parliament publicly rebuked EU leaders for urging “restraint” after military strikes on Iran, telling them to step aside if they are unwilling to confront the Islamist regime.
Sebastian Tynkkynen, a Conservative Member of the European Parliament, sharply criticized European leaders for what he described as weak and predictable calls for “restraint” following a series of military strikes targeting the Islamist Iranian regime.
In a blunt message, he told EU leaders to “shut up” and allow others to do the job they appear unwilling or unable to carry out.
His remarks come as several European governments urged de-escalation after the strikes, expressing concern that further action could widen the conflict across the Middle East. The European Union has repeatedly called for diplomatic solutions, while the United Kingdom warned against potential “escalation” into a broader regional war.
