Monumental milestone: Ethiopia completes Renaissance Dam despite Egyptian threats

Ethiopia has officially completed construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) — marking a historic achievement that reshapes Africa’s energy and development landscape.

GERD, built on the Blue Nile, is now the largest hydroelectric dam on the continent, with an impressive capacity of 5,000 megawatts. This output is expected to more than double Ethiopia’s electricity production, positioning the country as a rising energy power in Africa.

However, the dam’s completion has heightened tensions with Egypt and Sudan. Both countries fear the project will reduce Nile water flow — a critical resource for their populations and economies.

I believe that Israel will remain the focus of conflict until Messiah arrives (again). The Jews were allowed by God to return to their land in May 1948.

Why is Egypt upset? I don’t understand. Does the dam take water away from them? Egypt has the Nile…

It’s in Israel’s interest to create regional tensions in the Nile basin to distance the threat of Egypt from its borders.not only the heavy military buildup but even all the Egyptians are a threat .

For 52 years,Egyptian’s army hadn’t fought a major war in the region.it’s now in the zero level of military war experience ,and to reach Ethiopia, needs to go through Sudan, just to sink in its swamp .

Egypt has to find any reason to relief its internal economic, social, and political problems outside its borders, and no better than Ethiopia would be the best option to start a war.

It’s Israel’s turn to support Ethiopia and supply its needs for defense, security and support logistics to be prepared for near future conflicts in blue Nile region and extend its influence.

Sudan isn’t in need for water. It needs more weapons to destroy each other. They have decided to live in the stone ages and is rotten by Islamic ideology.Sudan is not a place for humans to live.
