Iran boasts of its ability to intercept and attack American F-35 stealth aircraft

NEWSRAEL: Boasts like this here is mostly for internal consumption, to boost a commander's position inside Iran. The Mossad, if not the CIA knows exactly what iran can do and what it cannot do.

Referring to the threats in the airspace, General Samad Agha Mohammadi told the Iranian news agency "Mehar" that air attack is a field that is vigorously developed by all the military powers in the world, and besides developing the issue of air attack, air defense must also be developed to deal with the threats.

He went on to say that the state army and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards constantly follow and study developments elsewhere in the world in the field of defense, and try to adapt and improve themselves to deal with any potential threat. "We are trying to make our research useful and practical so that it will be effective for at least the next 20 years," he added.

In another context of his statements, Agha Mohammadi emphasized that Iran is one of the most efficient countries in identifying and intercepting small aircraft.

The senior army commander went on to say that various measures have been taken in the area of dealing with precision aerial vehicles in the air defense units, and explained that the army can shoot them directly or confront them with other methods, including disabling them or taking them over.

"In the past decades, we managed to repel all threats around our border by relying only on local power," Agha Mohammadi said.

The senior army commander also touched on Iran's capabilities in the field of laser systems, and said that the country was able to make positive progress in this field, including electronic jamming and deception.

Referring to the issue of the deployment of F-35 aircraft in the Middle East, Agha Mohammadi emphasized that the country already has the ability to identify, intercept and monitor F-35 fighter jets.

Target lock is another matter. The radar returns are to degraded for that precision. So long as the pilots maintain proper distance like a boxer, they'll only be sending missiles into thin air.

Iranian pilots , who Putin thinks need training wheels, and the sad broke economy they are under would suffer the assault from long range stand off weapons. Detecting an F35 is easy. Achieving target
