Jewish heroine Hannah Senesh was arrested in 1944 by the Nazis, while on a secret mission to rescue Jews from Hungary. Though tortured repeatedly, she refused to reveal any information. On November 7, 1944, she was executed at age 23. Source: Stand With Us
