US Secretary of State Marco Rubio rejected the International Criminal Court’s authority and ridiculed efforts to arrest Israel’s democratically elected prime minister.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sharply attacked the International Criminal Court on Thursday following New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s renewed demand that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be arrested if he visits the city.
Rubio dismissed the ICC as a “stupid organization,” declaring that the United States does not recognize its jurisdiction. He described those operating the court as “lunatics and crazy people” and stressed that it has no authority over the US.
“As we speak, the ICC and its friends are waging a war against our country… If they believe they can deprive us of our sovereignty, we will teach them the full meaning of American resolve.”
