Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Air (IRGC) and Space Force has announced that 570 of its members have been killed since its founding in 2009, including at least five senior commanders.
Deputy PR officer Ali Naderi revealed the figure during a press conference on Sunday, November 9, without specifying how many deaths were related to the 12-day war between Israel and Iran earlier this year.
During that June conflict, Israel struck major IRGC defense facilities and infrastructure—and directly targeted the headquarters of Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Air and Space Force, killing him and at least seven other senior officers.
Among those killed were senior missile unit commander Mahmoud Bagheri, aeronautics defense chief Davoud Sheikhian, missile operations commander Mohammad Bagheri Taherpoor, and aviation support commander Mansour Safarpour.
