An American site claims that as part of the ongoing talks between the US and Saudi Arabia regarding a possible normalization with Israel in exchange for significant American benefits to Riyadh, the Saudis demand a nuclear program, and offer a partnership with the US.
According to the Semaphor site, the Saudis proposed to the Americans to establish a "nuclear Aramco". Aramco is currently the largest oil company in the world but it started in the 1930s as the "Arab American Oil Company" meaning a Saudi-American partnership. Today, Aramco is Saudi-owned.
According to the report, the Saudis want a joint nuclear company for the US and them to be established so that it will produce nuclear energy and in the future also export it when, over the years, it will become the leading nuclear energy company in the world under Saudi ownership. It will be in an American facility run by Americans only. Saudi Arabia has 7% of the world's uranium reserves.
In the background, Saudi officials are spreading threats that if the Americans do not accept this "nuclear Aramco" model, they will turn to the Chinese.
