One of the most unique and beautiful birds is the Namaqua Dove. It's a bird that is genetically close to the pigeon family, but smaller, thinner and have long tails in relation to its body. You won't spot it in the central region of Israel, since it likes dryer climate and agricultural fields, where it spends most of its time feeding on the seeds. It nests mostly in the Negev and the Dead Sea. If you wait long enough around water, you might spot it with beautiful reflections under its wings which are brown.
