Combining drones, autonomous vehicles, and cutting-edge technology, the new Clover unit enhances battlefield supply, safety, and maneuverability — marking a major step in the future of military operations
The IDF is at the forefront of military innovation with the launch of a new and revolutionary logistics unit called “Clover” (“Tiltan” in Hebrew) which combines drones, robotic vehicles and advanced technologies to provide essential support to combat forces in the field. The unit, established about four months ago, is intended to overcome difficult terrain challenges, reduce soldiers’ exposure to threats such as snipers, ambushes and roadside explosives, and improve maneuvering and supply capabilities on the modern battlefield.
According to a publication in Defense Blog, the new unit is made up of two main departments. The first department focuses on operating unmanned systems, including drones and robotic ground vehicles. These remotely operated systems are capable of carrying lethal payloads, delivering essential supplies and destroying enemy targets efficiently and safely.
The second department, by contrast, is engaged in research and development (R&D) of unique engines and weapons systems. Its goal is to significantly enhance the firepower of combat units by integrating new types of charges, advanced fuels and innovative means that will enable safe, deep penetration into enemy territory.
