The Israel Air Force (IAF) concluded Thursday a first-of-its-kind unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) international exercise, with 9 military teams from 6 foreign nations.

The United States, Germany, Italy, France and Britain participated in the drill, named Blue Guardian, alongside 16 Israeli teams that controlled the “Zik” (Elbit Hermes 450) drone in various tasks.

The drill’s goal was to place the IAF as an international leading force in using UAVs and strengthening the cooperation between air forces, a senior IAF officer said.

About 20 observers from other foreign countries also participated in the exercise.
