An Israeli delegation reportedly warned Washington that Iran’s deeply buried Pickaxe Mountain facility cannot be left untouched in any future agreement.
A senior Israeli delegation held secret talks with US officials in Washington last week, presenting Israel’s demands regarding any possible nuclear agreement with Iran.
One of the central issues was the underground nuclear facility beneath Pickaxe Mountain near Natanz, considered among the deepest and most heavily protected sites in Iran’s nuclear program.
Shortly after the meeting, President Donald Trump publicly mentioned the facility for the first time and warned that the US could take military action against it. Israeli officials believe the discussions helped bring the secret site onto the White House’s public agenda.
