"The demand is clear - the defeat of the enemy and the destruction of his infrastructure wherever we operate"
Chief of Staff, Lt. Col. Eyal Zamir, today (Sunday) conducted a field tour and assessment of the situation in the northern Gaza Strip with the commander of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor, the commander of the 162nd Division, Brigadier General Sagiv Dahan, and other commanders.
The Chief of Staff spoke with the commanders and fighters of Brigade 401 operating in the field and approved plans for the continuation of the fighting.
Chief of Staff, Lt. Col. Eyal Zamir said: "We embarked on Operation 'Gideon's Chariots' last weekend; we will continue until we break the enemy's fighting capacity, until we defeat him wherever we operate. We cannot return to October 7th. There are two main goals before us: the return of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas."
"The IDF will allow flexibility for the political echelon to advance any hostage deal. A hostage deal. This is not a halt, this is an achievement. We are working towards this," he added.
"Continue to act, fulfill your missions and strike the enemy. I am aware of the magnitude of the hour and the challenges ahead. Much appreciation, I trust you."
