During Operation 'Gideon's Chariots', IDF forces in the Southern Command achieved operational control over approximately 75% of the territory of the Gaza Strip. Operational control over the territory allowed the IDF to significantly expand its activities, thereby damaging Hamas's capabilities and terrorist infrastructure and disrupting its chain of command.
